There are still a number of people who complain about shows such as The Voice, The X Factor and American Idol, claiming that they take away the opportunities of the real musicians, working hard to make it in the industry. However, these shows have managed to give us some very talented and successful stars over the years, showing that it can help people to make the breakthrough in the business.
Unfortunately though, earlier this week it was announced that the next season of American Idol will be the last one, bringing the series to an end after 15 seasons. British music mogul Simon Cowell was one of the judges on American Idol in the past and he has now opened up about his time on the show, admitting that he had a blast with the series.
Cowell took to his official Twitter account to make his feelings perfectly clear, as her tweeted, "We had a blast! Me, Paula, Randy, Ryan [Seacrest, host] -- and not forgetting Brian [Dunkleman, season one co-host]. Thanks to the fans we were able to make some great shows and found some amazing artists."
He added, "Fox took a risk on a brand new show and I want to thank them for giving us the opportunity. They really were great times. Looking back at my time on American Idol we had a great time. We found great artists. Had fun. And to America. Thank you. It was a blast."
The final season of American Idol is set to air on Fox in January 2016, with the return of the current judges Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr., and Keith Urban.
