When it was announced that Sony had given permission for Spider-Man to be used in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, everyone was excited that we might finally get the Spider-Man movie that we have all been waiting for. However, it did not take long for there to be a few criticisms from the comic book fans, and these early criticisms came in the cast of Aunt May.

In the previous two Spider-Man movie franchises, we saw older women playing the role of Aunt May, with Rosemary Harris playing the character in the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy, while Sally Field took on the role in the Andrew Garfield starring The Amazing Spider-Man movies. Now though, Marvel have decided to go for someone much younger and actually someone quite sexy too.
Hollywood beauty Marisa Tomei made her debut as Aunt May in the movie Captain America: Civil War, already making a positive impact with the fans of the movie. In Spider-Man: Homecoming we are no doubt going to get to see much more of Marisa as Aunt May and we have no doubt that she is going to go on to become a fans favourite, and possibly even the best Aunt May yet.

With that said, there will always be those fans who feel that Aunt May should be an older lady and not someone so hot. We have to admit that we were a bit unsure to start with but we are now all for Marisa Tomei as Aunt May in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is set to hit the big screen on July 5 in the UK and on July 7 in the US.
